
SRI QADARIATIN
Sri Qadariatin is an accomplished actor of Teater Garasi, where she has been a resident artist since 1996. She was We Cudai in Robert Wilson’s “I La Galigo” performed all around the world, Demeter in Wilson’s production of Persephone at The Guild Hall Theatre in Easthampton, New York, and at the Festival Teatro Classico La Merida, Spain. She was participating in Watermill Summer Course Program in New York, 2006, along which she was also involved as performer in “Real Stage Project”. She is one of the actors in “Mnem[a]syne”, a collaboration between Teater Garasi and KuNauka Theatre Company in Tokyo, Japan. She took part in Teater Garasi’s featured projects such as the “Waktu Batu” project performed in Jakarta, Singapore, Tokyo and Berlin. She continues to expand her range and studied mask dance with Wangi Indriya, the art of Butoh, a special tradition of martial arts called Bangau Putih and Javanese classical dance. A master in physical improvisation, her attempt to synthesize all these performing sources through her presence had been one of her strongest performance feature. In addition to her involvement in theatre, she was assistant director to Garin Nugroho in the film “Requiem from Java (Opera Jawa)”. Her last works with Teater Garasi are “Je.ja.l.an” (2008), “Tubuh Ketiga” (2010) and “After The Voices” (2014).
